Alert summary
Volcanic emissions could still reach Antigua and Barbuda over the next 30 hours
Effective

Expires

Description
Synopsis: Winds at the lower levels of the atmosphere could result in volcanic emissions, including ash and dust, reaching Antigua and Barbuda and the rest of the northeast Caribbean from La Soufrière Saint Vincent (volcano). The chance of emissions reaching the islands continues to be low but there remains a reasonable worst-case scenario of it happening. If it does happen, the impacts would be, at most, minor, but the threat of health problems would be further elevated, for mainly unusually sensitive people, such as asthmatics, people with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly and children.
